about

Hi, I’m Amanda Halbert, AMFT — the therapist behind Salt & Heart Therapy.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and became an Associate MFT in September 2025. My supervisor is Miranda Gambetti. My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, blending deep emotional attunement with practical, research-based tools. I’ve completed formal training in EFT Externship and Core Skills, as well as Gottman Level 1, along with specialized training from the Gottman Institute in working with couples impacted by substance use.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years doing my own inner child and attachment work — the same kind of work I now guide my clients through. I believe that healthy relationships start with secure self-connection and expand outward from there. I also have a background in manifestation coaching and a spiritual practice that I would love to share more with any client who is interested.

My style is direct, warm, non-judgmental—a little salt, with a whole lot of heart ;)

I grew up in Northern California. However, I lived in New York City for 12 years, and that’s the city I credit with raising me. I moved to Portland Oregon in 2022, where I currently live with my incredible husband, two very cute cats and my spirited stepson.
